Albuquerque Keyword Research: An SEO Strategy
If you’ve ever tried to do your own search engine optimization (SEO), you know it’s not as easy as it looks. Luckily, there are Albuquerque SEO agencies like ours that are happy to help!
One of the SEO services we offer at Noved Solutions is keyword research. We’ll sit down with you and figure out which keyword phrases will be most effective for your business and help you get started on improving your SEO with a content plan and on page optimizations.
Read on to learn more about how we can help you with keyword research!
What is Keyword Research?
In order to do effective SEO, you need to use the right keywords. That’s where keyword research comes in!
Keyword research is the process of finding which keywords or phrases are most commonly used by people when they search for businesses like yours on search engines.
Once you know which phrases to target, you can start incorporating them into your website content, social media posts, and even your business name!
Why is Professional Keyword Research Important?
If you want people to be able to find your business when they do a Google search, then you need to make sure you’re using the right keyword phrases. Otherwise, your website will get lost in the sea of other businesses that are trying to rank for the same keywords.
And if people can’t find your website, they can’t buy your product or service!
Using Your Keyword Phrases
Once you have your list of target keyword phrases, it’s time to start using them in your SEO strategy.
The first place to start is by adding them to your website content creation strategy. Make sure to use them throughout your website, not just in the title or in a couple of paragraphs. The more often you mention them, the better chance you have of ranking high for those phrases.
But there is a balance; use them too much and it’ll look spammy. You want it to read naturally, while using those search phrases when appropriate.
You can also use keywords in your social media posts, but make sure not to overdo it. A couple of mentions here and there is all you need to boost your SEO without sounding too salesy.
YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T RANKING ON GOOGLE!
If clients can’t find you when they’re searching for your specific service, you might as well not exist to them!
These aren’t low quality leads either, these are people dealing with specific issues that YOUR company specializes in solving.
They’re looking, begging, for someone to help them.
Don’t you want them to see your website first?
Let’s Fix It!
Using Google Keyword Planner for Keyword Research
One of the best tools for keyword research is the Google Keyword Planner. This tool allows you to see how many people are searching for a particular keyword each month, as well as other related phrases that you may want to target.
This tool is free to use and can be accessed through your Google Ads account.
How to Use the Google Keyword Planner
To use the Google Keyword Planner, you’ll first need to create a new campaign. Once you’ve created your campaign, you’ll be able to select “Keyword Planner” from the menu on the left-hand side.
Next, you’ll need to enter in a few pieces of information about your business. This includes your website’s URL, the country and language you’re targeting, and your bid strategy (whether you want to target users who are browsing the web or those who are already interested in what you offer).
The next step is to enter in your target phrases. You can either enter them into a text field or copy and paste them from a document. Be sure to include all variations of your keywords, including those that are misspelled.
So if you’re in law, and looking for some personal injury lawyer keywords, type in “personal injury lawyer”, maybe add your target area in there too, and see what comes up. You’ll sometimes find some nice, non-competitive terms that can really give you an early boost with your SEO.
The final step is to click “Get Ideas.” This will give you a list of related phrases that you may want to target in addition to the ones you originally entered.
Easy, right? We’re just getting started!
Search Engines’ Auto-Complete and People Also Asked
Auto-complete is another great tool for finding related terms. When you start typing in a keyword phrase into the Google search bar, the search engine will automatically show you a list of related phrases.
These search queries are based on what other people are searching for on search engines, so they can be a great way to find new key phrases to target. You can also see how many monthly searches each keyword has and even how much organic traffic you can expect if you rank.
The “People Also Asked” box is another great way to find related phrases. This box shows you a list of questions that people have asked about a particular topic. These questions can be great fodder for blog posts or social media posts.
Using SEMRush for Queries, Analysis, and More!
If you’re looking for even more keyword research options, then you should check out SEMRush. This tool allows you to see how your website is currently ranking for certain terms, as well as find new search phrases to target.
SEMRush is a paid tool, but it offers a free trial so you can test it out before deciding if it’s the right fit for your business.
How to Use SEMRush for Keyword Research
To use SEMRush for keyword research, you’ll first need to create a free account. Once you’ve created your account, you’ll be able to enter in your website’s URL.
SEMRush will then show you a list of all the keywords your website is currently ranking for, as well as how much organic traffic those phrases are generating.
You can also see how difficult it would be to rank for those organic search terms using the “Competitors” tab. Looking at competitor keyword rankings can be one of the best ways to get a jumpstart on your own keyword research.
The “Keyword Ideas” tab will give you a list of related phrases that you may want to target in addition to the ones you originally entered.
Mentioning SEMRush as if it’s just a keyword research tool does it a huge injustice. While it can be spendy, SEMRush is one of the best tools for SEO solutions in general. If you plan on doing any SEO services on your own, definitely give the tool a try with a free trial, you can get all sorts of competitive data and insight during that period.
They also have a big sale going on right now so I figured I’d mention it. Full disclosure, yes this is an affiliate link so we’d get a percentage of the sale, but we’d be recommending SEMRush either way.
The Seed List: Dominating your Niche
A seed list is a preliminary set of keywords that you use to help you plan and structure your content marketing campaigns.
To generate a seed list, you’ll first want to think about the topics and areas that your business specializes in. You can then brainstorm related keywords for each topic.
Once you have a preliminary list of keywords, you can use various tools (such as the Google Keyword Planner or SEMRush) to get even more ideas for related phrases.
You’ll also want to make sure to include all variations of your target keywords.
By generating a seed list and using it as a starting point, you’ll be able to create high-performing content that will help you dominate your niche.
Link that content together with internal links, and you have some amazing topic clusters that will outperform a lot of content on the web these days.
Again, if you’re doing some personal injury law SEO, you’ll have a topic cluster of “vehicle accidents”. This cluster will contain cars, trucks, buses, and anything else that’s relevant.
